Sustainability is about management. A three-dimensional concourse is better able to manage large numbers of passengers.

There should be some trees here, but because architecture is landscape, it's fine to cut into it. The architecture has become one with the context.

Ground level expansion improves sustainability. Removes chokepoints and congestion.

Sustainability = "The ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level". By expanding into 360 degrees to create more pathways etc, able to maintain larger number of people using the stop.

Situate the stop in context: Treating architecture as landscape = It's perfectly fine for the architecture to cut into the surrounding landscape.
